Authorisation

The work authorisation process, step by step

Six stages, from an eligibility check to a worker standing on your site. Here is what each one actually involves.

Eligibility. The occupation is checked against the Deficit Occupations List and your headcount ceiling is calculated from last year average. If either of these fails, nothing downstream matters.

Registration or authorisation. Registration on the platform is sufficient if you work through an authorised placement agency. Hiring directly requires ANOFM authorisation, with the trading history, the employee average and the per-worker guarantee behind it.

Selection and the firm job offer. The offer must state duration, role, qualification level, salary, working time, conditions and benefits, and must say expressly who bears the cost of accommodation, transport and repatriation.

The single application. Filed on the platform together with the supporting documentation, including the employment contract and proof of means of support.

The visa. D/AM1 for highly qualified workers, D/AM2 for permanent, seasonal and cross-border workers. This stage runs at the consulate in the worker country of origin.

Arrival and registration. Bilingual contract, REGES-ONLINE entry, safety training, residence formalities and the start of the language and integration programme. This is the stage where an incomplete file becomes visible, and it is the stage most often rushed.
